We would like to thank everyone involved for making this such a successful event, with a huge turn out. Especially the folks at PB Bar & Grill and all of our Facebook fans who showed up. We already have some great ideas for next year which will make the event even better. Along the way and through the night everything went pretty smoothly with just a few staff hiccups and some minor backstage drama.

A lot of Facebook fans in attendance told us that they liked the format and opportunity where they were able to vote for there favorite contestant and while the Facebook votes would not determine the final winner they did play a big role in the final judging as the Facebook votes were given to the judges before the judging started so that they could use the votes in their selection decision.

We are defiantly going to use this same judging format for next year since it proved to be so successful, where the PB Reality Facebook fans will have the chance to get involved and vote for their favorite contestant. Next year, we will build on it a little more so that PB reality fans are even more involved, who knows, we might even pick a fan or two to sit on the judging panel?

A big shout-out to MC Marty Lubin who kept things moving and did a great job in making this event a memorable one. There were so many beautiful contestants up on stage, but before they took the stage, they were in the crowd talking to people. A lot of you told us you liked this and we got more then a few compliments from our fans on this! The contestants enjoyed it too, so it was a win-win for everyone!

At the end of the night Charity Hodges took the grand prize of $3,000.00 and was crowned Miss Pacific Beach (the very first one). Tiffany Keller was announced as runner up Rachel Swanson was chosen as the third place winner. A donation of $3,000.00 was presented to PhotoCharity.org right before the winners were announced. Voting has already started over on the PB Reality FaceBook page, so get over there and vote for your favorite contestant. You can vote for as many photos as you want by clicking on the “Like” button next to the photo your voting for. While the voting on Facebook will not determine the winner, these votes will be given to the judges on the night of the event to be used in the judging process! PB Reality is doing this to get the fans involved in the voting process and well, it can’t hurt going into the judging on the nigh of the event with tons of votes to try and sway the judges vote!

We’ve been planning this event for awhile and not to give anything away, we can say that aside from the first ever Miss Pacific Beach being crowned, there will be lots of giveaways. The PB (Pacific Beach) Reality Show Has Plenty Of Drama As Sexy Girls Compete For “The Girls Of PB” Calendar

As reality shows come and go, one would think that everything on the planet has been a theme.  No wait!…How about gorgeous girls fighting for the title to show off their bodies in a calendar based in a San Diego beach community called Pacific Beach?  Well it’s part of a new show debuting this September called the PB Reality Show (http://www.pbreality.com).  “It’s just one aspect of the show” says Jim Lawlor, the producer, who is also known locally as the “PB Millionaire”.  But he says it is important because that’s what will draw in a lot of the viewers.

A $1000 prize will be awarded in a bikini contest to be held August 12th at the Typhoon Saloon in PB as a way to promote the show and bring in new talent.  The winner will walk away with the cash and also appear in the calendar.  “It’s quite likely that others will be chosen from the contestants”, Lawlor says as “it will portray the most beautiful that San Diego has to offer”.

The show is also about Lawlor’s lifestyle and his three beautiful assistants he calls “Angels” who will help him judge the contest.  A self-made millionaire, he got the nick-name “PB Millionaire” from his camera crew which was meant to tease him but the name stuck.  His parties are described locally as “legendary” which take place at his home a.k.a. the “PB Castle” which has a view over looking Pacific Beach and are also a theme of the show.  Another aspect of the show is his charity work especially that of helping the San Diego homeless.

The combination of the calendar, his millionaire lifestyle, and his giving back to the community “makes for good entertainment”, he says, “it will be unlike any other reality show”.  Even though show has not yet aired it is drawing a lot of attention nationally as many have check the website (http://www.pbreality.com) for the newest trailer and expressed interest in the show.

Lawlor and his assistants are local celebrities as they are recognized at coffee shops, grocery stores and everywhere they go around PB – which is pretty remarkable considering the show has not yet aired.

The bikini contest will take place from 7:00-10:00PM at Typhoon’s on Garnet Avenue in PB and will be filmed as part of one of the first episodes of the show.  Two limo buses will take the contestants and staff to and from the event to assure their safety.

The San Diego Icon “PB Millionaire” – Producer And Star Of the Upcoming PB (Pacific Beach) Reality Show, Which Highlights His Lifestyle Of Living In A Castle, Used To Be Homeless

Growing up in Iowa in a large family with a struggling single mom making little income, Lawlor decided to make his move to San Diego to live out his dream of someday becoming wealthy.  Working at various odd jobs in Iowa, including painting houses to support his college tuition, he graduated from St. Ambrose University in Davenport with a degree in Business Administration.

FIrst visiting San Diego in the late eighties on a peace project he initiated and became famous for, Lawlor met up with some San Diego investors that were intrigued by his goggles for spray painters invention which he conceived when painting a house one day.   A few months later, in February 1991, he moved to San Diego to encourage them to invest in his idea.

However, the first few years in San Diego were tough for Lawlor.  On several nights he slept in his car until he found a small office in Pacific Beach for only $200/month.  The landlord had no idea that he had planned to sleep there as well.  The tiny office provided a roof over his head as well as a place he could begin working on his new company.  He hid his clothes in the drop ceiling and showered at the nearby fitness club.  He was careful not to park his car near the office at night and keep the lights low as to not draw any attention to himself living there.  For more than 2 years he got away with it and was eventually able to find an apartment that he could finally afford a few blocks away.

He continued to paint houses as he worked on improving the invention and eventually obtained a patent.  At that point the investors saw the light and gave him his initial starting capital. By 2005 his company’s annual sales was over a million dollars.  In 2006, he bought a house in PB and a year and a half later converted it into a castle – better known as the “PB Castle”.

Although he still owns his goggle business he spends most of his time working on his newest brain child “The PB Reality Show”.  He attributes his success to his daily meditations which he has been doing since he was a teenager.  He says in meditation he can contact “the field of all possibilities” and “gain support of nature”.

Since becoming a millionaire he puts his wealth to use with the PB Millionaire Charity (pbmillioniarecharity.com) which donates to various well-known charities.  However, he says his favorite charity is helping the homeless of San Diego.  “With most charities you write a check and never see the money go to work.  With the homeless you get to see their faces light up with gratitude when you give.  It’s a much more rewarding”, Lawlor says.

He has developed a personal relationship with some of the local homeless people.  He knows their street corners where they hang out and when they’re going to be there.  He likes to surprise them by just showing up with a “care package” or some cash.  He is developing a “homeless survival kit” that he wants to mass produce and distribute nationwide.  He has even recruited his staff of assistants he calls “Angels” to help.

But the things Lawlor is most famous for in San Diego are his legendary parties and millionaire lifestyle.  A self-described “bachelor for life” he enjoys giving his guest a “total experience that they will never forget”.  He says “it’s all about giving whether it be to a homeless person or a guest at my party”.

After much coaxing by his friends and assistants who told him that his lifestyle would make a great reality show, he decided to go ahead and start filming it all, his lifestyle, the parties, the “Girls of PB ” swimsuit calendar – all the ensuing drama – including his work with the homeless.  After more than a year of filming, “The PB Reality Show” will air this September.

Charity Hodges won the Grand Prize and if you saw her overall performance – she deserved it! And so did Tiffany Keller and Rachel Swanson who took second and third. And there were so many others that were beautiful and charming that deserved to win as well. I really felt bad for some of them because in any other bikini contest they probably would have won. It’s just this one had so much competition.

Prior to the contest date, we really wanted our Facebook fans to be involved, so we decided on a judging format were we let them vote for their favorite contestants on Facebook. Then those results would be handed to the official judges on the night of the event for their consideration.

The judging format proved to be so successful that we decided to incorporate it into all of our future contests! A few of our Facebook fans misunderstood the judging process and thought that we would pick the winner solely based on Facebook votes, but then what would be the point of holding a contest at PB Bar & Grill? …and who would have wanted us to choose Miss Pacific Beach from a photo?

Of course, when you have a major event like this with the kind of prizes we were offering, you’re bound to get those who didn’t like the turn out. Anyway, that kind of stuff happens in the big leagues and this was no “ordinary” bikini contest – it was “extraordinary”…it was the Miss Pacific Beach Contest!

And it is so appropriate that Miss Pacific Beach is named “Charity” since one of her first orders of business will be to attend the walk to help the homeless youth of San Diego at the PhotoCharity event. She will also be hosting our big annual Halloween party this year!

As part of the ongoing search for the most beautiful women of Pacific Beach, the “Girls of PB Calendar” will give $1000 to the first place winner of a bikini contest to be held at Typhoon’s Saloon on August 12th.  The calendar is part of the PB Reality Show, produced by Jim Lawlor, known locally as the “PB Millionaire”.  It’s just one aspect of the reality show but “an important aspect”, says Lawlor, “it draws attention to the show and creates a lot of drama” which brings attention to his good causes.  He has a website dedicated to his giving back to the community at: http://www.pbmillionairechairities.com

Lawlor, a self-made millionaire, who gained his fortune through inventions, is now inventing a new type of reality show.  The “formula” is the millionaire lifestyle, his beautiful assistants called “Angels”, the legendary parties at the PB Castle (his home), and the constant influx of gorgeous women who are vying to be in his calendar and ultimately win the $5000 Grand Prize as Miss Pacific Beach.  Last but not least, the show includes his philanthropic work especially with the homeless of San Diego.

It is based on Jim and the beautiful PB Angels. As a philanthropist, he finds various projects for them that will help better the community. “The PB Millionaire” As He Is Known In San Diego Now Has His Own Reality Show

When Jim Lawlor arrived here in San Diego 18 years ago, the only money he had was in his wallet. Although a college graduate, it was tough finding work, so he painted houses just to get by. It wasn’t long before his money ran out and he had to spend a few nights in his car.

He found a small office in PB (Pacific Beach) he could rent for only $200 a month. Of course he couldn’t let the landlord know he planned to live there. For more than two years he got away with it. Hiding his clothes in the drop ceiling and using the local gym for his shower, he spent all of his time working on his invention- a spray painting goggle.

Fast forward to today and Lawlor is a millionaire working on a new invention called “The PB Reality Show” (http://www.pbreality.com). Thus the name “PB Millionaire” as he is called by his camera crew.  It portrays his new lifestyle of living in a castle – his home – also known as the “PB Castle” which overlooks the city where he now gives back.  Also featured in the show are his attractive assistants he calls “Angels” whose main job description is “to fight boredom” but also include things like feeding the homeless.

The reason he expects viewers to watch are the gorgeous women in the show competing to be in the “Girls of PB Calendar”. You see, the show is not just about his millionaire lifestyle, the legendary parties at his castle, nor even his charity work. It’s also about all the drama that ensues, especially the cat fights from the bikini clad babes vying for a place in the calendar.  “It’s always going to be the beautiful women that’s going to get everyone to watch”, he says, “then they’ll be drawn in by the show’s real drama”.

The first episode will be a make or break for the show so Lawlor intends to pull out all the stops.  He plans to  include behind the scenes of a bikini contest to “search for the hottest girls of San Diego” for their calendar where there’s a lot of drama.  But there is a softer side of the show as he includes helping homeless. “It will be unlike any other reality show seen before” he says.

A new preview trailer just released on the website has had pretty interesting reviews.  “Finally a reality show here in PB” someone wrote.  “What a great concept. Can’t wait to see it air since the Hills is done.”, said Nancy K.  And Miro D. wrote, “I am actually more interested than I thought I would.”

The show will air this September.

The turnout for our “Girls of Pacific Beach” bikini contest was tremendous. The crowd cheered on as 18 gorgeous contestants vied for their chance to become a calendar model. The crowd was frantic over the petite blonde bombshell Shannon, they voted for her to receive the first place prize of $1000!

The deadline for the “Girls of PB” Calendar is drawing near but there is still so much to be done and as we all know, anything could happen.
